About the Speaker – Mary Chin, Manager & Educator at Media, Arts & Design School, Singapore Polytechnic.

Mary Chin has been lecturing for more than 8 years for the Diploma in Creative Writing for TV and New Media, specifically on the subjects of documentary filmmaking and transmedia storytelling.  Her students produce excellent documentary films that have won awards and also screened at festivals around the world.

While at Singapore Polytechnic Mary was Executive Producer for several original content that was shown on Mediacorp Toggle. They include web series The Leon Theory, infotainment series; The Urban Revolution, and a short film, Their Voices Met (们的歌)

Before moving to teach at Singapore Poly, Mary freelanced as a writer working on various factual and travel series and spent more than 10 years in the media industry, first as a writer-producer at MTV Asia, then as Supervising Producer at Mega Media, overseeing the creative content of international programs of outstanding quality. Some of them include Beyond the Edge- A Cliff Diving Expedition, and Appetizing Adventures with Luke Mangan.
